Vegas Teen Charged with Six Felonies Following Car Accident

|

A teenager in Las Vegas was recently arrested after he crashed into a Vegas restaurant called Eggs & I. The 18-year-old was arrested after the accident on charges of driving under the influence, but since the incident he has been charged with four driving under the influence of drugs counts. If he is convicted of all six felonies, he may be forced to spend a total of 80 years in prison. Prosecutors claim that the teenager had had more than three times the legal limit of marijuana in his blood when he facilitated the crash at the restaurant. He was also on Xanax at the time of the accident.

The teenager has also received a reckless driving charge and was charged with leaving the scene of the accident. Allegedly, a witness caught the offender and held him for the police when he tried to escape. The teenager stood in handcuffs and was told that he would have a $500,000 bail. He is still incarcerated as a result. The teenager already has a lawyer on his side, who claims that the entire incident is just the result of a tragic accident.

If you have been involved in a car accident, then chances are that you may have said incriminating things or made foolish decisions in the mayhem following the accident. If so, then you may have been charged for crimes that were not intentional or purposeful. For example, many people try to leave the scene of an accident because they are in shock that they have actually been involved in such a crash. The police may charge an offender with leaving the scene of an accident, but if you can evidence that you had no criminal intent you may be able to get this charge eliminated.
